Hi! Thank you for visiting OUR classroom
page! My name is Ms. Toni Hotzfield
and I am so excited to be a part of the Palos West School Community! I am very eager to be working with you
and your child this year! I wanted
to take a brief moment and introduce myself to you. It is interesting how life’s experiences
take you to new adventures and experiences!
Upon completing my Bachelors from Saint Xavier University, my “dream
job” was to teach Kindergarten. My
first teaching adventure began in 1992 in Chicago Ridge, IL as a
Kindergarten teacher. I continued as
a Kindergarten teacher in School District 109. My knowledge of curriculum and Best
Practices grew as did my interest in upper grades. While pursuing my first Masters in
Educational Administration from Governors State University, my professional
career changed as well. I wanted to
teach older children along with challenge myself to grow as an educator so;
I added teaching grades 3 and 4 as well as a 3rd/4th
multiage class to my “dream job” list.
I began my career here in Palos School District 118 in 2007 teaching
5th grade. This year, I
will be teaching 4th grade as well as sponsoring Student
Council. I am excited to be
teaching 4th grade again and especially eager to be working with
you this year!
Currently, my love for
knowledge continues as I am pursuing a Masters in Reading from Saint Xavier
University. I am looking forward to
completing this degree in August of 2011.
I am learning many new strategies to implement into my
classroom.
I hope this gives you
a little background about me. I
believe in being an active member in my school community. I have an open door policy and am excited
to be working with you this year! Please feel free to stop in and introduce
yourself! If you have any questions
or concerns, please feel free to write a note or e-mail me at thotzfield@palos118.org.
I am
looking forward to a great year full of learning adventures and discoveries!
