Welcome
to 1st Grade!!
I am very
excited to be teaching 1st grade at Palos East. I have grown up in the beautiful Palos area since I was 3
years old. I attended Palos West and graduated from Palos South in 2000.
Then I graduated in 2004 from Stagg
High School, where I was a 4 year Varsity
Basketball Player. I went on to graduate from Illinois State University’s
outstanding Elementary Education Program with my Bachelor’s Degree in
Elementary Education and a concentration in language arts and social
science in 2008. In May, 2011 I
graduated with my Master’s Degree in School Leadership from Concordia
University. I am ecstatic to be a part of the amazing 1st grade
team at East, and excited to get to know my students!
In my free time, I enjoy spending
time with my family and friends, staying active, reading, trying new
recipes, traveling and playing/watching sports. I especially love all
winter and water sports such as skiing, snowboarding, wakeboarding and
tubing! This past summer I ran my second Rock N’ Roll Chicago Half
Marathon, so you may see me running through the Palos area as I continue to
train for next summer! I am also a huge Chicago Bears, White Sox and
Blackhawks fan!
My goal
for my students is to become: honest, responsible, respectful, peaceful,
knowledgeable, and self-motivated learners while building their
self-confidence, communication skills, and creativity. I will provide a learning environment
where students are engaged in learning, and I will make every effort to
meet the needs of my students. I
will strive to make our classroom a place where students feel safe and
supported by their teachers and peers.
I’m looking forward to a successful year!
