In district 118 children are our first priority. I continually strive to create and maintain a learning environment which allows every student to progress to the maximum of their ability. I received a B.S. in elementary education from Illinois State University. I also earned a M.A. in education with emphasis in reading and an Advanced Degree in educational administration from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, IL. I have been employed in District 118 since 1985. I have focused on improving reading achievement for the majority of my career. This focus is supported by a diverse background in education that includes teaching at all grade levels from pre-school to 8^th grade. My experience also includes serving as a Chapter One teacher, college instructor (U of I), Emergent Learner teacher, Assistant Principal, educational consultant, and a Reading Specialist.
