Miss Laurie Spadoni J Welcome
to 8th grade Language Arts. I have been teaching at Palos South
since 2003. I hold a Masters of Arts
in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. I received a Bachelor
of Arts from the University of Iowa in Elementary Education, with a
concentration in reading. Katie McDonough and I co-teach together in two
Language Arts blocks. Working together not only benefits our students but allows
for more one on one time with each student. The
two main rules of our classroom are to be courteous and respectful. The most
basic and ongoing expectation of our students is their attitude and behavior.
This should be demonstrated through daily attendance, punctuality,
preparedness, small group work, class participation, and behavior in all
settings. We look forward to a wonderful year filled with creative lessons,
learning, and discussions. J Students will be
learning and exploring language and literacy skills, and learning in an
integrated way. There will be opportunities for teacher and student choice,
collaborative and independent work, large and small group discussion, written
and alternative forms of response, all with a learner-centered, inclusive and
