Jeremy Mancilla
(jmancilla@palos118.org)–
Applied
Technology Welcome
to Mr. Mancilla’s Applied Technology webpage. This is the 4th year for the Applied
Technology program at South Middle School.
I am also beginning my 1st year teaching 8th
grade social studies. Prior to
enriching students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, I
taught 6th grade social studies South Middle School. I am a 2000 graduate of Hobart High School
in Hobart, Indiana, a 2004 graduate of Saint Xavier University in Chicago,
and a 2007 graduate of National Louis University in Chicago. I was married to my beautiful wife
Elizabeth on July 11th, 2009.
She is a middle school special education teacher in Naperville. We welcomed our first child, Sophia Grace,
into the world on June 6th, 2010.
As a middle school teacher, my main focus is on engaging the students
with hands-on and high interest topics, where we are able to live and learn
the curriculum. Besides
just teaching Applied Technology, there are two very cool and interesting
clubs that I help run here at Palos South.
6th grade after-school gym on Monday’s from 2:55 to 3:55,
and Cribbage and Board Games Club on select school days throughout the year
from 2:55 to 4:05. 6th
Grade after-school gym is open to all 6th graders and is a fun,
social, and non-competitive gym club where 6th graders learn
different games, and learn about each other.
Cribbage and Board Games Club is open to all South students where we
learn, practice, and play Cribbage and many other board games in a social
interactive environment. We here
at Palos South look forward to a great 2011 – 2012 School Year!!!
