Hello!
Welcome to 2nd grade. Second grade is a fun and
exciting time in your child’s life. I
am happy to share this time with your family. In 1988, I began my teaching
career in Hinsdale School District 181 teaching 3rd grade. After the birth of my children, I took
great delight in staying home. While
away from the classroom I stayed active by: volunteering at my children’s
schools, tutoring, and enrolling in a couple of graduate classes. In 2002, I began my career at Palos East
teaching 2nd grade. Over
the course of my teaching career, I have been a teacher in 2nd grade,
3rd grade, & 2nd/3rd grade multi-age
classrooms. I have also had the pleasure of “looping” from 2nd to 3rd
grade on more than one occasion. (looping - when a teacher teaches the
same group of students for two or more consecutive years.) I
hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from University of
Illinois at Chicago, a Master’s Degree in Multi-categorical Special
Education, & a Certificate of
Advanced Study in General School Administration. I have also completed the “Gifted Institute” recognized by the
Illinois State Board of Education, and additional course work in gifted
education. When I’m not in the classroom,
I enjoy spending time with my husband and teenage children, reading, walking
our dogs, or researching & updating my family’s genealogy. Palos East office:
