Mrs. Roche - ART

Welcome to “Studio 21”,

Palos West Elementary School’s Art Class!

My name is Denise Roche, and I will be your child's art teacher this year.  With a degree in Interior Design from Purdue University, I am a licensed, nationally certified corporate interior designer.  I worked for five years at international architectural firms when I realized that I was meant to follow in my parents' footsteps in becoming a teacher.  I hold a Masters Degree in Education from DePaul University, with endorsements in art and social sciences, and have been teaching art for the past eight years.  Being an art teacher allows me to be in the classroom, enriching students' minds creatively, while passing on my own passion for the subject, which is something that is very important to me.  I am looking forward to a wonderful and exciting year at Palos West Elementary!!!

*Please remember to bring in an Art Shirt/Smock.

Art shirts can be an old shirt worn over student’s clothing,

protecting them from messy art supplies, such as paint.

Shirts should be brought in a Ziploc bag,

with the student’s name written on it.
