Martinez Welcome to the Palos West
ALPS website. My name is Mrs.
Carrie Martinez and I have been teaching elementary school for twenty-three
years. Twenty of those years have been
in District 118. I taught first grade
for seven years, third grade for seven years, and I am beginning my tenth
year working with the accelerated learners in grades 1 - 5 in the ALPS
Program at Palos West. I received my
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University of Chicago,
graduating Summa Cum Laude. I have
endorsements in reading, language arts, and social science. I also received my Master’s Degree in
Administration and Supervision from Loyola University. I expanded my background and knowledge
working with higher-level learners and received my Verification in Gifted
Education. Implementing engaging
instructional strategies and techniques is always exciting for me. I truly enjoy teaching and working with
children in various grade levels, as every student brings something special
to the classroom. If
