ALPS Mrs. Martinez Welcome to the Palos West ALPS website. My name is Mrs. Carrie Martinez and I have been teaching elementary school for twenty years. Seventeen of those years have been in District 118. I have taught first grade for seven years, third grade for seven years, and I am beginning my seventh year working with the accelerated learners in grades 1 -5 in the ALPS Program at Palos West. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University of Chicago, graduating Summa Cum Laude. I have endorsements in reading, language arts, and social science. I expanded my education at Loyola University and received my Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision. Coming up with news way to teach and learn is always exciting for me, so I continued to take classes and received my Verification in Gifted Education. I truly enjoy teaching and working with children in various grade levels, as they all have something special to bring to the classroom.
