Who is
Miss Turner really? Well… my
educational background is pretty interesting.
I graduated from Stagg High School back in 1995 and went to Moraine
Valley Community College for 2 years because I wasn't sure what I wanted to
do with my life. After 2 years, I transferred to Northern Illinois University
and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Deafness Rehabilitation Counseling. I
worked as a Social Services Director at a local nursing home facility and
then became involved with the Early Intervention Program in Illinois. I
worked with children ages birth to 3 years old with developmental delays and
their families. After some time, I
decided that I wanted to become a teacher. I found a wonderful program at
Saint Xavier University and received my teaching degree along with my Masters
in Education. I was fortunate to student teach here in District 118 at Palos
East. After completing my student teaching experience in 4th grade, I applied
for a job in the district. I was hired in May of 2004, and the rest is
history! I love
being a 5th grade teacher at Palos East! How can you contact me? Click on
