Ms. Okon
6th grade Language Arts
and Social Studies
Team 6B This is my third year teaching at
Palos South Middle School! I received
my bachelor degree in Elementary Education with the Middle School Option with
concentrations in Social Studies and Language Arts from Eastern Illinois
University in 2006. I am currently
pursuing a graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Governors State
University. For the 2008-2009 school
year I will be teaching two Reading/Language Arts blocks and one section of
Social Studies. This past summer I spent a lot of my
free time traveling! My first trip was
across the globe to Japan. I spent two
weeks in areas such as Hiroshima and Tokyo.
I still can’t believe I was there!
I spent 4th of July weekend in the U.P. of Michigan where I
visited the DeYoung Family Zoo and got to feed a baby leopard. The end of July brought my long awaited
trip with my best friend to Las Vegas.
My last hooray was spent skiing and tubing on Lake Tippecanoe! To say the least, I have had my fun the
past two months but it’s time to get back to reality!
